Micron’s most advanced mobile memory, LPDDR5X, is MediaTek Validated for Dimensity 9000 5G

American memory company Micron Technology announced yesterday that the company will supply MediaTek with its 5X Dual Data Rate Low Power DRAM (LPDDR5X) for the Dimensity 9000 5G chipset (samples have already been shipped).
Micron’s 5X DRAM (LPDDR5X) is built on its first 1α (1-alpha) node on the market that it first announced in January. Advanced mobile memory is designed for flagship smartphone models and Micron says it “enables the smartphone ecosystem to unlock the next wave of data-intensive applications powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation 5G “. Micron has launched a number of innovative components including LPDDR5, 1α based LPDDR4X, 176 layer NAND based UFS 3.1, and uMCP5 solutions.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 5G will be the first chipset to support LPDDR5X memory, which delivers peak bandwidth of 60 gigabytes per second for high-end premium flagship smartphones. Micron says that the delivery of LPDDR5X to its partners combined with the validation of MediaTek “paves the way for wide market adoption.” The validation of MediaTek is expected to lead to “broad market” adoption. The maximum speeds of the LPDDR5X weigh 8.533 Gbps to deliver performance up to 33% faster than the previous generation LPDDR5.
