The Office of Faculty Development will host a workshop on effective sabbatical planning


The UMass Amherst Office of Faculty Development (OFD) invites faculty to Plan a productive and restorative sabbatical, a panel discussion that will discuss strategies for using your time productively, managing sabbaticals with family obligations, integrating self-care practices so you can come back invigorated, and more. The workshop will take place via Zoom on Monday, February 28.

Workshop organizer Sarah PoissantOFD Chancellor’s Leadership Fellow and Associate Professor of Communication Disorders, will moderate a panel of UMass faculty members: Audrey Altstadthistory teacher; Caitlyn Butlerassociate professor of civil and environmental engineering; Gerard Downesassociate professor of biology; Elizabeth Miller, president and professor of marketing; and Jonathan WynPresident and Associate Professor of Sociology.

This event is part of OFD’s Mid-Career Faculty Workshop Series and is particularly suitable for those planning their first sabbatical as well as those looking to make a subsequent sabbatical more productive. All teachers are welcome.
